Licence keys and Macs
Outbound needs a licence key, sent by email after purchase. There is no trial. A personal licence may be active on 2 Macs at a time and a family licence on 5 Macs in one household; deactivate it on one Mac (Settings › Licence) to move it to another. Outbound checks the key with Dodo Payments when you activate it and about once a week afterwards. A refunded or disabled key brings back the licence screen, but Outbound never cuts your network because of a licence problem.
Personal licence
The personal licence is a one-time $39 USD purchase for 2 Macs; the first 50 licences sold are $29 USD. It includes all Outbound 1.x and 2.x updates. Later major versions are not included in that promise. No personal subscription is required.
Family licence
The family licence is a one-time $59 USD purchase for 5 Macs in a household. For questions about coverage or update terms, contact support before purchasing.
Teams
Teams licensing is per seat, billed yearly, with MDM deployment features. Team prices and terms are provided by quote. Contact support@outboundfirewall.com to discuss your deployment.
Purchases, taxes and refunds
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, whose checkout shows the final total, applicable taxes and its purchase terms before payment. Requesting a launch email forms no purchase contract. A refund policy has not yet been announced; ask support if a particular refund requirement matters to your purchase. Nothing here limits rights that apply under local consumer law.
Ownership and third-party materials
Outbound is closed source. Its name, icon and software are not offered under an open-source licence. The Mozilla Public Suffix List is included under MPL-2.0; that licence applies to the list. See third-party credits.
Press may use the published press assets to identify and discuss Outbound. Please preserve their proportions, label development screenshots accurately and do not imply an endorsement.
Use and technical limits
Configure rules only on Macs you own or are authorized to manage. A firewall rule may interrupt an app, authentication, updates or a network service. Maintain a recovery path and test changes before deploying them widely.
In Ask mode, an unanswered connection is allowed after 8 seconds for UDP or 60 seconds for TCP by default, then added to Review. You can change the wait (15–120 seconds for TCP) or have unanswered connections blocked. Strict mode blocks unmatched connections. Outbound is not a guarantee that every network threat will be prevented.
